The Whin Marketing Company Ltd is a Scottish Company SC611088 with a sole director, Katie Goudie. We are committed to respecting and protecting your privacy as you use our site, and to keep your information confidential.  This privacy notice explains how we treat the personal data you provide to us online.

Any personal data collected will be used and held in accordance with the requirements of the EU General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).

We will never give or sell your information to third parties for their marketing purposes. We only use personal information in a reasonable manner according to our business needs.

Website Cookies

This website uses cookies, which are small files gathered by your browser from the most websites that you visit. The cookies on thewhin.co are from Google and Facebook. They are used to find out how long you were on the website, what pages you visited, and similar information. They can also tell us when you’ve visited more than once.

This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website. Facebook may be able to identify you through your Facebook account, if you have one, and connect your behaviour on this website with your Facebook account.

Mailing list

As part of the registration process for our newsletter, we collect personal information including your name and email address. It is your responsibility to update us if your details change. You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of our emails or by emailing curious@thewhin.co and requesting to unsubscribe. We use a third-party provider called ConvertKit to store, use and manage your personal data (convertkit.com/privacy/).

Website Contact and Online Forms

When you contact us via the forms on our site, we collect information like your name, email address, comments and answers to questions. Once the form is submitted, we will use the details you supplied to email you back or deliver the agreed service. Your personal information is not added to our mailing list. After the project has been completed or the event has passed, we will store your data for up to 5 years. You can request that we delete it before this.

The form on our Contact page is provided by Contact Form 7 and does not store any of your personal information or your message. All the details are sent straight to us by email and are not stored anywhere else.

Registration forms are provided by Google Forms. Any data you submit through a Google Form will be stored, used and processed via our Google account.

Event registration is often provided on a third-party website called Eventbrite. Any data you give us as part of the booking process is stored by Eventbrite in accordance with their Privacy Policy (www.eventbrite.co.uk/support/articles/en_US/Troubleshooting/eventbrite-privacy-policy).

We hold customers’ names and email addresses if they join our newsletter list so that we can email them.

We hold information from our website forms so we can deliver any services that we agree.

We have electronic systems and staff procedures to safeguard and secure the personal information we collect.

We do use external ‘data processors’ to manage ticket purchases (e.g. Eventbrite) and hold email mailing lists (via Convertkit). All of our data processors have provided statements on how they keep your personal data safe and secure in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2018.
